Associate Art Director
Originally recruited as Lead Artist, I was promoted to Associate Art Director soon after and was given the responsibility of supporting the Art Director to provide documentation and direction to the Art team.
In addition to this I was asked to chair a cross company group aimed at finding the best solutions for the future of Art and Level design Technology at Codemasters.
As we moved into production my focus was around developing our lighting and tools, working alongside the Tech Art Director and Tech Director while providing guidance for concept art, reviewing progress of various art assets etc. A big part of my work was focussed around the customisation both in terms of vehicle skins but also avatars/unlocks and the underlying tech for these systems. I organised, provided detailed briefs and reviewed the incoming skins from our outsource partners and implemented them correctly in game.
Being a member of a cross site direction team I was also able to help new artists and coders understand the tools in place as they came on to the project and this helped smooth a transition that would otherwise be much more time consuming.
